City of Prato

Project winner of a public competition, the identity of the city of Prato is the result of research I have conducted on ancient maps and cartouches of the urban settlement of Prato, with a more architectonic and graphic approach: the letter P comes out of  the crossing of axes and the orientations of the city walls of the ancient city.

The second feature I have added to the brand is related to the old and traditional work of the “stracciaioli”, workers able to recycle every single piece of cotton. The colors I gave to the various threads that cross the P represent the current multi-ethnicity of the city, made up of small and medium-sized Chinese enterpreneurs,  migrants from Africa and Italian people.
